We realize that each dog is a unique individual, with different personalities, quirks, and ways of learning. We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all training program, but customize our programs to develop a training plan that works best for your and your dog. Our trainers use a balanced approach, and use our tools and skills to apply the 3 basic principles of dog training.
Principles of Dog Training
There is not one way of training that works best for every dog. Every dog is different, and different owners want different things from their dogs. Our trainers take the 3 principles of dog training (Timing, Motivation, and Consistency), and create a training plan that works best for each dog/owner team.
Motivation: Does your dog do anything for a treat in your living room, but when he sees another dog on a walk suddenly you and your treat become invisible? That is because every dog wants something, but that something changes depending on the environment. Our job is to discover what motivates your dog in these different situations, and use them to our advantage in training.
Consistency: Dogs thrive on consistency. With consistency, we create clear rules and expectations, resulting in a calmer, more confident, and happier dog. Just like children, dogs learn faster and have a better understanding for the rules when they are consistent.
